Hurricane Irma Was Here!

SADLY, I wonder  if this antique store will update their sign now that hurricane Irma has gone through their town more recently than Irma? Here’s a relevant blog from the PAST in the midst of this years turbulent hurricane season.

NO, Wilma wasn’t a paying customer’s name, it’s the November 24th, 2005 Hurricane that sadly destroyed much of the Florida Keys!

This antique shop ‘Belle’s Trading Post’ pays homage to the unwelcome visitor it had on that fateful day along with its own perseverance for building back its business after Wilma’s departure. While here, be sure to take in the views on both sides of the road, there’s a swiftly moving creek that makes for some great viewing & photos! (as seen below)

Find this sign of hurricane past at Mile Marker 14.3 oceanside of US-1 by turning onto Blue Water Drive and veering right a mere 1/10 of a mile.
